The area around Cottage Smrekovec offers many opportunities for active relaxation for families with children throughout the year. In summer, swimming at Krpáčovo Lake, the Tarzánia rope park, cable car trips to Chopok, or family hikes. In winter, ski schools, children's lifts, and sledding. And when the day ends, the best moments often come at the cottage—sharing dinner, playing board games, and enjoying the crackling fire in the fireplace.
How far is the Smrekovec Cottage from the nearest swimming spot?
Just a few minutes from the cottage is Krpáčovo Lake, one of the most popular natural swimming spots in the Low Tatras. In summer, it offers pleasant refreshment, paddleboarding opportunities, beach relaxation, and a beautiful setting for family walks. You can reach it by car in about 5 minutes or on foot in about 15–20 minutes.
How far is the NAZOVUBOTOVANIA from the ski slope?
One of the biggest advantages of Cottage Smrekovec is its location. Guests can choose from four ski resorts within 15 minutes' drive. During one stay, you can try several ski resorts—from the family-friendly Ski Krpáčovo to Chopok South. You don't have to stick to just one slope and can choose the resort each day according to weather, snow conditions, or trail difficulty. This is especially appreciated by families with children and groups of friends with varying skiing skills.
How does it work when checking in?
Before your stay, we will send you all the necessary information in time, including navigation, exact address, and instructions for key pickup. If needed, we are available by phone during your entire stay.
When and how is accommodation paid for?
The reservation is bindingly confirmed after payment of a 30% deposit. The balance of the stay is due no later than 14 days before arrival. For reservations made less than 14 days before arrival, the full amount for the stay is due immediately. Upon arrival, a refundable deposit of €200 is required, which is returned by bank transfer after the property inspection. Upon request, we will gladly issue an invoice and documents needed to claim a recreation subsidy.
Can I drive directly to the accommodation in case of bad weather?
Access to the cottage by car is possible all year round. An asphalt road leads to the cottage, with the last approximately 200 meters consisting of a gravel road. Under normal conditions, it is easily passable by passenger vehicles. Parking is available for 3 cars at the cottage. In winter, winter tires and snow chains or a 4x4 system are recommended during heavy snowfall.

Chata Smrekovec is our second home, which we lovingly take care of. We happily open it to guests who seek a peaceful environment, quality accommodation, and will value it as much as we do.
We ask guests to respect nighttime quiet, behave considerately toward the surrounding nature and neighbors, and care for the cottage as they would their own home.
We recommend buying basic groceries before arrival or securing them on the way to Krpáčovo. The last approximately 200 meters to the cottage leads on a paved gravel road which is easily passable by passenger vehicles under normal conditions.
