Cottages Veľhora

Chaty Veľhora are located in a peaceful mountain environment near the village of Terchová, on the doorstep of the Mala Fatra Mountains. They offer accommodation in 4 separate cottages with a large outdoor area, suitable for relaxation, socializing, and family stays with children.
During the summer, guests have access to a covered pool, a gazebo with a fireplace, cauldrons for goulash, a children's playground, and several campfires for grilling. Outdoor facilities are shared by all current guests.
The cottages are suitable for families with children, groups of friends, small teambuildings, and larger group stays. Since the area is in a natural environment, it is not suitable for loud parties or guests who do not respect quiet hours, other guests, or nature conservation.

The cottages are reached by approximately a 1.5 km long unpaved dirt road. In winter, the road is usually not passable by car, so this should be considered when planning your stay. You can inquire about road conditions directly with us.

The total capacity of the area is 39 beds in four separate cottages. By arrangement, capacity can be increased individually up to a maximum of 41 people.

Upper Cottage
The Upper Cottage accommodates 11 people (with arrangement, up to 13 people). It has a common room with a fireplace, TV, dining table, and fully equipped kitchen. On the ground floor, there are two separate WCs and a bathroom with a shower. Also on the ground floor is one bedroom (3 beds), and in the attic, three separate bedrooms (4 + 2 + 2). In front of the cottage is a covered terrace with seating, grill, and cauldron.

Middle Cottage
The Middle Cottage provides accommodation for 8 people. On the ground floor, there is a common room with a fireplace, TV, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. There is a separate WC and bathroom. In the attic, there are two four-bed bedrooms. In front of the cottage is a covered terrace with seating.

Lower Cottage
The Lower Cottage is the largest of our cottages, accommodating up to 14 people in four separate bedrooms. It is suitable for larger families or groups of friends who want to stay together. There is a common room with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with two showers, and two separate WCs. The cottage has a covered terrace with seating.

Archa Cottage
Archa is our newest accommodation and accommodates 6 people. Accommodation is possible only in the summer months, roughly from mid-June to mid-September (upon request).
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, living room (including TV), and bathroom with a shower. There are two separate 3-bed bedrooms, each with one double bed and one single bed. There is also a covered seating area in front of the cottage with views of the surrounding forests.

The cottages are about 7 km from the center of Terchová and approximately 500 m from the Nižné Kamence campsite. There is direct access from the cottages to the Žilina - Terchová cycle route and also a hiking trail through the Obšívanka Valley. In Terchová itself, you can visit the Terchovec Relaxation Center, the local calvary, Bikepark Paseky, or make an ascent to the Terchovské srdce lookout tower or the Mravečník lookout tower. We also definitely recommend the rope park, Terchovský vláčik, local museums and galleries, and the wooden nativity scene. In winter, the Vrátna ski resort offers its services.
