Hotel Vyšehrad Comfortable hotel with a sauna in Turčianske Teplice

The hotel met my expectations, I have no complaints. I can positively rate both the accommodation and the services.

The room lacks a fridge and the food is very poor

Through your website I got a phone number for the hotel where we agreed on 2 nights for 20 euros per person per night, there were 5 of us so 200 euros total. They also added that we should come and arrange everything. I clearly told the woman on the phone that I have two small children and I must know in advance how much I am paying, I don’t travel 'just like that' (these were my exact words). We arrived and at reception they asked for 120 euros per night, saying it was a room for 6 people and we could find the 6th person if we wanted. I told them we were only 5. So I asked for the woman I had spoken to on the phone, and when she came, she didn’t understand the situation. So I reminded her what we had agreed on over the phone. There was no reliability on our agreement. On the contrary, she told me to look at the price list and that 120 euros/night is for the whole apartment for 4 people and that since we had one small child she would give that for free, so on top of the 120 euros she didn’t add another 20 euros (so 140 euros/night). When I told her we wanted a cheaper room, she calculated on paper in front of me for two separate rooms and in the end both together would cost around 136 euros/night, so more. So we had to take that room for 120 euros, with great disappointment that she did not respect our agreement by phone. And on top of that, we had 2 small children under 4.5 years old, and it looked like she was ready to put us separately into two rooms. Unbelievable! Simply put, she tricked us into paying 120 euros/night, which is 40 euros more in total than we expected. That’s food for two days, dinner for everyone, or two full-day tickets to the waterpark. Very unfair behavior, and I am the kind of person that such conduct ruins the stay. When we arrived at the room, it was large, beds for 8 people. Beds were comfortable, except the attic ones—you wake up at night hitting your head on the ceiling. The table was large, but the "kitchen" was just covered with tile-patterned stickers. There were glasses and 2-3 plates handy, but no electric kettle or hot plates as shown on the site. Fridge in the bathroom. Bathroom tiled, but during showering we had to move all carpets aside because water flowed out of the shower, and of course, we didn’t know that the first time when we walked in socks on that wet carpet... Given the strange layout of the room and the unfair, almost misleading approach, I DO NOT RECOMMEND. To me, it was not an apartment worth 120 euros/night. Moreover, they do not accept card payments, only cash. And we declined a cheaper private lodging because of this, but we regret it....
