We offer an honest Krkonoše holiday with a homely atmosphere and great food that no impersonal apartment can give you! We take care of your comfort from morning till evening ourselves, the Štverka couple. Our guests enjoy comprehensive support so they don’t have to worry about anything during their stay. Our greatest advantages that you won’t find elsewhere: 🍳 Genuine half-board: No cooking or expensive restaurants. In the morning, a rich breakfast awaits you, and in the evening, a warm homemade dinner. 🚐 Our own Transporter at your service: Guests can arrange transport with our 8-seater car to hiking trails or winter ski lifts. Save on expensive parking in the center of Špindl! 🎯 Separate game room for young and old: When it rains outside, our game room offers a 2-in-1 ping-pong and billiard table, darts, and board games. 🌲 Garden, mushrooms, and relaxation right at the house: We have a forest full of mushrooms right behind the house. In the garden, there is an outdoor fire pit for evening roasting, and for children, a trampoline, slide, and sandbox. Next to the guesthouse is a playground and mini-golf where you can rent sports equipment for a fee and have a great time! When it rains in the mountains, our location outside the busy center is a huge advantage for you! You avoid traffic jams in town, and thanks to great accessibility in both directions – both to Špindl and down to Vrchlabí – you can go out for fun anywhere. Bad weather won’t spoil anyone’s mood at Popelka. Our goal is to keep people from sitting alone in their rooms and encourage them to have fun together. What awaits you with us indoors when it pours outside? 🏓 Ping-pong and billiards: Our playroom has a 2-in-1 table where you can organize a lively family or friends’ tournament. 🎯 Darts and board games: We have a stock of board games guaranteed to make everyone laugh. 🍺 Cozy chat at the bar: We meet in our dining room, brew hot tea, fragrant coffee, or pour a chilled beer. The perfect time to forget your worries and have fun together! What activities do you recommend to your guests around the cottage?
Our location in the picturesque Přední Labské valley is ideal for those seeking peace in the mountains but still wanting to be close to both sides — to Špindl and down to Vrchlabí. Frankly, you don’t have everything immediately at hand here, but that’s exactly why the peace is divine, without tourist crowds. In winter, when there’s a lot of snow, mountain roads to the peaks can be unpredictable. That’s why we use our valley location as a strategic advantage — we have excellent bus connections, and by arrangement, our 8-seater Transporter will gladly take you where snow conditions safely allow. 🍁 AUTUMN AND SUMMER (Clean nature and tranquility): 🍄 Mushroom picking just outside the door: We literally have a forest full of mushrooms right behind our home — just grab a basket. 🥾 Hikes without crowds: From the guesthouse you can set off to Rovinka, Benecko, or a peaceful walk around the nearby Labská dam. The center of Špindl is a short bus or car ride. 🚲 Cycling and fun: The area is crisscrossed with bike trails, and nearby in Špindl, you can visit a bobsleigh track or rope center with children. ❄️ WINTER AND SNOW (Smart skiing and cross-country): ⛷️ Ski slopes both directions: We are exactly halfway. You can go either up to Špindl (Svatý Petr, Medvědín) or down towards Herlíkovice and Bubákov, which are very accessible. 🛷 Cross-country skiing certainty (Vejsplachy area): The skiing trails on the peaks around Benecko are about 3 km uphill from us and hard to access in winter, but we have a great alternative! A little below us in Vrchlabí is the excellent Vejsplachy cross-country area. It’s flat, artificially snowed, and perfectly lit even for evening skiing. ⛷️ Sledding for children: Definitely try the famous 4-kilometer sledding track in Špindl — an experience children won’t forget.
What activities do you recommend for children around the cottage?
At Popelka, children definitely won’t be bored. Right by the guesthouse, safe outdoor fun awaits them, plus many great experiences nearby. What do we have for children right in our garden? 🤸♂️ Outdoor fun: Children enjoy playing on the trampoline, in the playhouse with a slide, and on the sandbox. The garden offers plenty of safe space for running and playing games. 🏰 Playground nearby: Just above our guesthouse is a hotel with a smaller playground that our young guests can also use. The best children’s experiences nearby: 🐻 The Tree Top Walk and Bears (Janské Lázně): About 25 minutes by car, you can enjoy a wonderful walk high in the treetops with a giant slide in the middle and, most importantly, see real bears in a large forest enclosure! 🛷 Sledding and bobsleigh track (Špindl): In winter, a 4-kilometer safe sled run, and from spring to autumn, a great bobsleigh track. 🦌 Animal nature trail: An easy walk around Špindl where children learn about Krkonoše wildlife through playful stations.

🏊♂️ Right at the guesthouse: During summer months, a small above-ground pool is available in our garden for a refreshing swim. 🌊 Aquacentrum Vrchlabí (about 8–10 min by car or bus): A new, modern indoor pool nearby with a great waterslide, hot tubs, relaxation zone, and activities for the whole family. 🌊 Aquapark Špindlerův Mlýn (about 10 min by car or bus): Great year-round swimming with a wild river, slides, and thermal hot tubs. 🌲 Labská dam (a short walk from us): A beautiful walk to the dam. Swimming here is only for the brave, but the scenery is worth it!
How far is the NAZOVUBOTOVANIA from the ski slope?
🚐 Our Transporter at your service: If you don’t want to deal with transport in winter, we will gladly drive you to the lifts and slopes with our 8-seater car by prior arrangement. 🚌 Regular bus: A local bus stops near the guesthouse, providing easy access to Špindl and Vrchlabí. ⛷️ Špindlerův Mlýn ski resorts (about 5–7 min by car): The renowned Svatý Petr, Hromovka, and Medvědín resorts. Top-notch skiing very close! ⛷️ Herlíkovice and Bubákov ski resort (about 10 min by car): Easily accessible slopes just below us towards Vrchlabí. Ideal for families with children and relaxed skiers. 🛷 Špindl sledding track: An amazing 4 km illuminated sled track enjoyable for all ages. 🧳 Facilities with us: After skiing, use our ski storage with boot dryers so you step into warm, dry footwear in the morning.
How does it work when checking in?
🕒 Arrival (Check-in): Rooms are ready for you from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm. If you are delayed and need to arrive later, don’t worry — just call ahead to arrange a late check-in. 🚪 Personal welcome: We’re not an impersonal apartment with a code. Upon arrival, we, the Štverka couple, will personally greet you, show you the guesthouse (dining room, bar, playroom), give you the keys, and advise you on routes or anything else you need. 🩴 Home comfort (Indoor slippers): To keep the guesthouse clean and cozy for everyone, we wear slippers indoors. Please bring your own indoor shoes/slippers. Thank you for understanding! 🚗 Free parking: You can safely leave your cars in our own parking lot right at the guesthouse. We have space for 10 cars, and parking is, of course, free for our guests. ❄️ Winter notice: The mountains can lay down a heavy cover of snow in winter. Under poor conditions, we recommend carrying snow chains in your trunk to arrive safely and comfortably. 🕚 Departure (Check-out): On your departure day, please vacate rooms by 10:00 am so we can prepare them for incoming guests.

🍳 Price and meals: Our fixed price on the portal includes accommodation with a hearty breakfast. 🍽️ Additional half-board: You can (and we highly recommend) purchase homemade warm dinners during your stay. These dinners are paid for on site and are not included in the portal booking price. 💳 Payment cards: We do not accept payment cards at the guesthouse. 💵 Payment on site: All payments for accommodation, extra dinners, or bar tab are accepted only in cash. 💰 Deposit for the stay: To confirm your reservation, we require a deposit paid in advance to a bank account. Payment details will be sent by email. 🛑 Cancellation policy: In case of cancellation, the deposit is handled according to our cancellation terms (or by individual agreement for rescheduling if a serious issue arises).
Can I drive directly to the accommodation in case of bad weather?
🚗 Arrival to the guesthouse: You can reach our property by car all year round without any problems. The guesthouse is near the main road. 🅿️ Free parking: You can park comfortably in our own parking lot right by the property. Capacity is 10 cars and parking is, of course, completely free for guests. ❄️ Winter arrival (Important): The last 100 meters to the guesthouse lead up a steep mountain hill. In winter, the road is regularly maintained, and if you have good winter tires (or 4WD), you can get up here without problems. But with fresh snow, snow chains in the trunk are a must. 👍 Man’s word: If snow conditions are really tough and you're hesitant at the bottom of the hill, just call me. I’ll come down and we’ll find a safe solution together!
