Samotka is not a traditional cottage. It’s an experience based on simplicity—a small cabin for two in the middle of an old orchard, without Wi-Fi and electrical connection. A stove, well water, fire, nature, and time when you don't have to be anywhere else.
What program would you recommend to your guests in case of rain?
Light the stove, cook something warm, read, talk, or just listen to the rain. Samotka is a place where you don’t need to have a schedule for every hour.
What activities do you recommend to your guests around the cottage?
Walks and hiking in nature around Sulín, exploring northern Spiš, or simply staying in the orchard, lighting a fire, and enjoying Samotka’s peace.
What activities do you recommend for children around the cottage?
Samotka is designed as an experiential accommodation for a maximum of two adults and is not suitable for stays with children.
How does it work when checking in?
Before your stay, we arrange a meeting place and time in Sulín. There we pick you up in person and drive you to Samotka. Upon arrival, we show you the cabin and explain how to use the stove, well, dry toilet, and other amenities.
When and how is accommodation paid for?
After booking, we will contact you with a confirmation and payment details. Payment can be made via bank transfer or cash by agreement.
Can I drive directly to the accommodation in case of bad weather?
Guests do not drive their own cars directly to Samotka. Access is through nature and is not suitable for regular passenger cars. Therefore, before your stay, we arrange a meeting place in Sulín, from where we provide transport to Samotka.
What else should a guest know before arriving?
Samotka is deliberately simple. It is not connected to the electrical grid, has no Wi-Fi, nor a conventional shower. We recommend sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and your own power bank if needed. We will explain everything else needed for your stay before arrival and personally upon handover at Samotka.
