Great satisfaction, a paradise for children - lots of toys, swings, slide, the opportunity to play with a ball, a hot tub, sauna. The owner was kind and humane, eager to accommodate us as much as possible.

U Deda a Starkej offers accommodation for a large group (max. 20 people). It is ideal for 3-generational families (grandparents, parents, children). Each apartment has its own bathroom. On the large fenced property, there are many attractions for the whole family: swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, gazebo with "goulash stand", large grill, and children's playground (slide, swings, mini climbing wall, house). Since the property is fenced, dogs can also roam freely.
What program would you recommend to your guests in case of rain?
In case of bad weather, there is a large lounge with a fireplace and board games available in the house. There’s also a covered gazebo in the garden. Čierny Balog is near the town of Brezno, where guests can visit the cinema, museums, cafes, restaurants, and shops. Nearby lies the Bystrianska Cave and 45 minutes from the house is Banská Bystrica with a variety of attractions for all ages.
What activities do you recommend to your guests around the cottage?
The area surrounding the accommodation features the Čiernohorská Railway, Vydorvký Forestry Museum, newly built lookout tower, Klenovský Vepor, and the Dobročský Forest. From the cabin, you can go for walks in the forest, where there is an asphalt path suitable for pleasant strolls or pushing strollers. The Horehron's cycling route also begins in the village. Since the house is located on a side street, playing outside is also safe.
What activities do you recommend for children around the cottage?
Within the cabin, we have a playground (swings, slide, little house with kitchenette, small climbing wall). The area also includes a swimming pool and a hot tub. Near the cabin, there is a larger children's playground and basketball/football field.

How does it work when checking in?
About a week before your arrival, we will contact you to finalize your arrival, departure, bedding preparation, and all details regarding the accommodation. Grandpa will come to welcome you upon your arrival and show you around.
When and how is accommodation paid for?
The payment for the stay is made via bank transfer through an invoice. The first deposit invoice (50%) is paid upon reservation, and the second deposit invoice (50%) is paid a week before arrival. We can also provide documentation for reimbursement of the recreation voucher.
