Superior Hospitality! I’m usually not one of the supporting guys and even not bother to write detailed reviews, but here is an exception. We just came back from a family vacation in the Tetra mountains with another family. We spent 9 terrific days mostly in the nature or the higher and lower Tetra mountain areas. In this review I would like to focus mainly on our host, Mr. Pavel that was there for us for any need and much more than that. He provided us with washing machine although it was mentioned one is not available at the house, he provided phone numbers, addresses and directions on daily basis, and even did some calls to check things for us. He assisted with setting up the fire for the kids, including bringing and felling the woods. And he was generous and welcoming by surprising us with good wine, fresh goat cheese and yogurt, homemade cake, blackberries and probably more. We felt like grandfather is having us in his home rather than a host running his business. Pavel insisted to have us with him for few drinks (probably more than few but who remembers…) Even when there was an issue (hot water), Pavel promptly responded and made sure everything is fixed on the spot. I haven’t mentioned the property itself which is located in the heart of the Tetra mountains area with an easy access to most of the sites with max drive of 90 minutes. The house itself is located by the river, it is all wooden, large and comfortable with 7 bedrooms and 7 batch rooms! To summarize, I would strongly recommend Tetra mountains in Slovakia as a family vacation destination, not because it’s superior to Austria, France or Italy that we visited in the last few years but because of the hospitality and kindness of the host.
