Antonova Cave Veľká Lodina

Antonova Cave, also known as the Small Ružín Cave, is freely accessible to the public. It is located in the northwestern part of the Ružín Karst and belongs to the cadastral area of the village Malá Lodina. The cave is named after a local forester who discovered it. The cave impresses with its entrance portal and large ceiling window just behind the entrance. The total length of the cave is not exactly known but is estimated between 40 to 70 meters. There are no dripstone decorations in the cave, but in winter you can find icicles growing from the ground. Archaeological research indicates that in the past, prehistoric humans and various cave animals of different types and sizes lived here. Starting points for tours to Antonova Cave include the Ružín railway stop, located between the Malá Lodina and Margecany stations, or the village Veľká Lodina.Antonova Cave, also known as the Small Ružín Cave, is freely accessible to the public.
