The Brewer Printing House is one of the most important printing houses in all of Slovakia. It was founded in the first half of the 17th century. It was notable because most texts by authors of Baroque literature – both religious and secular – were printed here. Among the most famous works printed here is Orbis Pictus by J. A. Komenský. This book was the first language textbook in the world to include pictures that helped with understanding and memorization of some concepts.
