Budatín Castle Žilina

Budatín Castle was originally built as a water castle in the 13th century. Its foundation was a residential tower. In the 14th century, it was inhabited by the Suňog family. In the 18th century, the castle was rebuilt into a chateau. In 1849 it burned down and fell into disrepair. It was restored in 1922. It houses an exhibition of the Považie Museum. An attractive feature is a collection of wire crafts.
