Officer's Pavilion in Komárne Komárno
The so-called Officers' Pavilion building in Komárno is one of the city's most beautiful and largest historical monuments. It was built in the mid-19th century in the Neo-Gothic style. Visitors will be fascinated by the corner towers and the northern portal bearing the inscription VIRIBUS UNITIS (strength in unity). This motto was used by Emperor Franz Joseph I. The Officers' Pavilion was built for the imperial and royal army's needs. It contained officers' apartments and their families' quarters, as well as a large officers' casino.
