General Seminar - Rubrorum Trnava
The General Seminary - Rubrorum in Trnava was founded in 1649 by Archbishop Juraj Lippai based on a similar seminary in Rome. It served Hungarian theologians. The name is derived from the red robes of the clergy. The originally Baroque building was later modified in a Renaissance style. A early Baroque portal with a Latin inscription and the founder's coat of arms has been preserved from the original building. The building housed an archbishopric and later a state gymnasium.
