On Marian Hill, there is a Neo-Gothic church. This place is one of the oldest and most significant pilgrimage sites in Slovakia. A chapel was built on Marian Hill as a token of gratitude by the inhabitants of Spiš for their salvation at this place during the Tatar invasion in 1241 - 1242. Thankful processions took place here every year, where people from neighboring villages gathered - thus a pilgrimage tradition was born.
