Bratislava Castle

The castle is already mentioned from the 10th century. From the 16th century, it became the residence of the Hungarian king, the site of Hungarian diets, and coronation ceremonies. Later, it housed a General Seminary—an educational institution. It was destroyed by fire in 1811 and subsequently reconstructed in 1956. The castle is characterized by its four towers. Currently, it houses exhibits of the historical and musical museum managed by the Slovak National Museum. The castle is already mentioned from the 10th century.
