Castle Ilava Kameničany
The castle dates back to the 13th century. Historians believe that it was founded by the Templars, though no sources confirm this. A church was built next to the castle in 1480 but did not survive. In the 16th century, it was rebuilt into a fortress. In the 17th century, Sigfried Krištof Breuner from Stubingen bought the castle, allowing the Trinitarians to settle there. Consequently, a church and monastic quarters were added. A philosophical high school was established in the monastery. The monastery was abolished in 1783.
