The ruins of the Sobôtka castle are located on the right bank of the Rimava River. The fortress was built by Ján Jiskra of Brandýs. In 1460, the fortress was destroyed, and in 1555 the Turks built a new castle on the ruins of the old one. The castle consisted of an inner fortress with defensive towers connected by walls and an outer castle that included two gates, a bastion, a tower, and a mosque with a minaret in the southern part.
