The Gothic castle dates back to the 14th century. It belonged to the Kačič family. In 1323, King Charles Robert granted the castle to Tomáš Szécsény. After the Szécsény family died out, the castle came under the administration of the Lošonc family. The castle fell victim to the Turks. However, its lords managed to withstand them for several decades. It wasn't until the 16th century that the castle fell into the hands of the Turks. After their departure in 1593, it was taken over by Žigmund Forgáč. However, in 1709 he lost the castle. Later, it was damaged by fire and has been deteriorating ever since. Nevertheless, a reconstruction of the premises has taken place. The Gothic castle dates back to the 14th century. It belonged to the Kačič family.
