Calvary Nitra

The Nitra Calvary is located in the southeastern part of the city, situated on the eponymous hill with an elevation of 213 meters. Thanks to its similar location, it offers panoramic views not only of Nitra itself but also of the Zobor Hills and the mountains in the background. The local Stations of the Cross consist of 12 chapels created in a neo-Romanesque style modeled after Italian examples. The route begins at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and ends at the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre. Nearby, you can also notice three crosses themed around the Crucifixion, and there is also a Missionary Museum of the Society of the Divine Word, which features rare artifacts brought from various parts of the world by Slovak missionaries. The Nitra Calvary is located in the southeastern part of the city, situated on the eponymous hill with an elevation of 213 meters.
