The manor house in Budmerice is surrounded by an English park featuring a long poplar avenue. It was commissioned by Ján Pálffy, a count who fell in love with a French noblewoman and decided to propose to her, making modifications to his residence inspired by French castles. However, before he could complete the construction, the countess married someone else, and Ján Pálffy never married again.
