The history of the Renaissance manor dates back to the 16th century. It was built by the noble Forgáč family on the site of an old water castle, previously constructed by the Czech duke Jan Jiskra. The manor served as a fortress. It features corner towers, a fortress wall with defensive bastions, and a wide water moat that surrounded the entire complex. To this day, the corner towers, part of the defensive wall with bastions, gun loops, and the entrance gate have been preserved.
