Castle in Orlove Považská Bystrica

The four-winged manor stands on an elevated terrace by the river Váh. It was built by the noble Balassa family, who were often visited by Empress Maria Theresa. This manor is a valuable example of Baroque architecture. Its characteristic feature is the late Baroque facade, central risalit, and richly divided windows. Surrounding the manor is a park with 120 species of trees and shrubs from Europe and other continents. There was a museum exhibition in the manor until recently, but now it is privately owned and not open to the public. The four-winged manor stands on an elevated terrace by the river Váh.
