Mansion in Sala Šaľa

The castle in Šaľa was constructed between the second half of the 16th century and the first half of the 17th century. A water castle stood at the site beforehand. Originally, there was a Jesuit college and later an anti-Turkish fortress. The castle is a copy of the Renaissance castle of the Thurzó family located in Bytča. It is an interesting four-winged structure with massive corner bastions and a smaller tower above the entrance gate. Today, the State Archive Branch in Bratislava is located in this building. The castle in Šaľa was constructed between the second half of the 16th century and the first half of the 17th century.
