Mound in Očková
In the village of Očkov, there is an archaeological site of pan-European significance. It is a burial site with a burial mound for the chieftain of an ancient nation that inhabited parts of Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria during the 13th to 11th centuries BC. The body of this nobleman was burned on a funeral pyre according to pagan customs and placed in a stone mound grave. This mound is among the first and significant Slovak archaeological exhibits in nature.
