The Little Fatra Mountains consist of the Kriván section, where the Great Kriváň stretches along its main ridge. It is the highest peak among the mountains of the Little Fatra. Many have tested their skills by hiking up Kriváň, which is not one of the most challenging climbs and no one has regretted it. It offers excellent lookout conditions, a so-called circular view, granted that the weather is nice. It rises to 1,708.7 meters above sea level and is situated next to Pekelník and Chleb, separated by the Buben and Snilovské Saddle. The trail from the Vrátna hut to Snilovské Saddle follows a green path and takes 2 hours and 30 minutes, shorter by cable car. From Snilovské Saddle, the hiking trail continues along a red path to the dreamed-of summit. The Little Fatra Mountains consist of the Kriván section, where the Great Kriváň stretches along its main ridge.
