Slavin (Bratislava)
The monumental Slavín memorial is the burial site of 6,845 Soviet soldiers who died liberating Bratislava and its surroundings in April 1945. The construction of this memorial was completed in 1960. The monumental granite pylon, standing above the ceremonial hall, is 39.5 meters tall. At the top of this pylon stands the Victory statue by A. Trizuliak, depicting a soldier raising the battle flag over the liberated country. Shrubs brought from various regions of the former Soviet Union surround the memorial.Read on
