Bojnice
The first mention of the castle dates back to the 12th century. Originally, it had a wooden structure, which was rebuilt into stone a century later. At that time, it belonged to Matúš Čák of Trenčín. In front of the entrance stands a massive multi-year lime tree, under which King Matthias used to sit. In the 16th century, it came into the hands of the wealthy Thurzó family. And in 1644 it belonged to the Pálffy family. The castle is considered a national cultural monument.
