Dekretova Cave Dolný Harmanec

Near the Harmanec Cave is a smaller cave without karst decoration. It is accessible to the public and named after Slovak forester Jozef Dekret Matejovie, who is known for improving wood harvesting by introducing saws instead of axes and helping to preserve and enhance forests. In the cave there is an almost 50 m long corridor, a spacious hall 30 m long, 18 m wide and 8 m high. In ancient times, a cave bear lived in this hall, which has been proven by bones found here. The cave is located in a rock cliff above the parking lot in the Horný Harmanec area, opposite the path leading to the Harmanec Cave.Near the Harmanec Cave is a smaller cave without karst decoration.
