Francis II. Rákoczi one of the most famous rebels of our history. At the beginning of the 18th century it led the latest and greatest anti-Habsburg uprising. To this uprising he became involved people from all over the country and all walks of life. Rakocsi succeeded in its campaign to dominate the whole of Slovakia and Transylvania. In the great battle of frictional him the imperial army defeated and fled to Turkey. On our territory it has been preserved many monuments and memorial sites that are linked with this man. It also includes Františkov native mansion, located in the village Borsa. The mansion was built in the 16th century in Renaissance style in the place where sometime stood an old water castle. Today, the castle museum with expositions that explain his life and action. Also show the history of the family Rákóczi and the history of the castle itself. Read on
