As a result of the so-called Vienna Arbitration, Czechoslovakia had to cede parts of southern Slovakia to Hungary before the outbreak of World War II. Consequently, some railway lines were interrupted, and new ones needed to be built. After the war, Hungary returned these territories, and therefore the completion of these new lines was not pursued further. Due to the construction work that had been initiated, many unused monuments were preserved, including the Slavošovský Tunnel under the Homôľka hill, which connects the villages of Slavošovce and Magnezitovce. This tunnel, which lacks railway tracks, is one of the tourist attractions visited by foreign tourists. It is about 2.5 km long and can be traversed in less than an hour. The adrenaline experience is created by the dampness, cold, darkness, and unpredictability of what visitors might encounter in the unlit underground. Every visitor should bring waterproof footwear, warm clothing, and their own light source for the passage. The trail can also be cycled.
