Trumpeting stone Horné Plachtince

In the forests near the village of Sucháň, there is a hidden trumpet stone. It is a massive volcanic rock with two openings. With the correct blowing into the hole, a loud trumpet sound can be heard echoing through the surrounding valleys. Interestingly, few people know how to correctly blow into this stone, as merely puffing does not produce the sound. According to legend, the Turks used to call their people from looting in the past with this stone. Another legend states that it was used by the local population as a warning against approaching pagans. It is difficult to say whether the openings in the stone are a play of nature or a human creation. The mysteries of this musical instrument also include figures and numbers that were carved here centuries ago. You can reach this interesting attraction by following the green educational trail that starts in the village of Sucháň.In the forests near the village of Sucháň, there is a hidden trumpet stone.
