At the beginning of the 20th century, it faced extinction, but fortunately, it was rebuilt during the construction of the adjacent hotel complex. To this day, it needs to be regularly cleaned, as it continues to be overgrown with moss. The Mlynica stream flows through the New Štrbské pleso. In the lake, you will find numerous species of fish and wild ducks. Since the lake is located in the village of Štrbské Pleso and not in the mountains, it is easily accessible.Near the famous Štrbské pleso, you will find the Small Štrbské pleso.
