Lomnicky Peak Observatory Vysoké Tatry
At an altitude of 2,634 m is the highest point in Slovakia where people regularly work. It is the observatory at the summit of Lomnický štít in the High Tatras. This is an ideal place for valuable meteorological and astronomical research and measurements. In 1940, a building was constructed here along with a cable car. Since then, regular meteorological observations have been carried out here. In 1962, a workplace for astronomers was established on Lomnický štít.
