At the edge of the village Nitriansky Hrádok lies the site Zámeček, one of the richest archaeological sites in Central Europe. Due to the abundance of precious finds, it is also called the "Slovak Troy." In ancient times, from the third millennium BC, a fortified prehistoric settlement was here, with several cultures succeeding each other. The first excavations in this area were conducted by Ján Eisner, the founder of Slovak archaeology. On this site stands the 'Slovak Helena,' a figurine of the fertility goddess Great Mother. Together with the Moravian Venus, it is the most important archaeological find in Slovakia. It was once depicted on the Slovak two-crown coin. At the Zámeček site, you will find an information board and field remnants from archaeological research.
