Polana Hriňová
Poľana is a peak or a mountain range?! Wise books say that it is both. Poľana is the highest peak of the Poľana mountain range, standing at 1457.8 m above sea level. This range is a remnant of a stratovolcano, meaning a volcano with a crater located near the settlement Kyslinky. The summit can be reached via two marked trails, one red and one blue. The red trail begins at the Poľana hotel, while the blue starts from the settlement Kyslinky. The Poľana mountain range and its peak are a popular tourist destination in the summer due to the interesting volcanic history of the area, and in winter because of the ski resort located near the summit at an altitude of 1260 m.
