Defunct settlement Soldo Štrba
V katastri obce Štrba, pri poľnej ceste, ktorá smeruje na Važec sú situované zvyšky zaniknutej stredovekej osady Šoldov. Zaujímavé je, že o tejto osade neexistuje veľa historických faktov. Predpokladá sa, že bola staršia ako okolité obce pod Tatrami. Osadu tvorili vidiecke domy, kostolík a benediktínsky kláštor. Počas 15. storočia sa tu usadili bratríci, ktorí si tu postavili pevnosť, z ktorej sa púšťali do lúpenia okolia. Pravdepodobne v súvislosti s bratríckymi vojnami osada v priebehu 15. storočia zanikla. Lokalita Šoldov je významným archeologickým náleziskom s množstvom cenných historických artefaktov. Našla sa tu napríklad aj kostra, ktorá bola vyššia ako 2 m, čo bola na tú dobu ohromujúca výška. Je možné, že vďaka tomu sa tu rozšírila aj povesť, že tu niekedy žili obri. Dnes je toto miesto významné aj z hľadiska cestovného ruchu. Nachádzajú sa tu zrekonštruované základy kostolíka a iných historických budov. Nájdete tu aj pamätník, informačnú tabuľu a malé posedenie.
