Ostredok Turecká
Ostredok boasts the most dominant peak in the Veľká Fatra mountain range, standing at 1952 m above sea level, ranking it first in this area. It lies in the main ridge of Veľká Fatra and offers an excellent panoramic view from its summit. The slopes of Ostredok are made up of the mráznická layer of the fatrik or, simply put, the Krížna nappe, a tectonic unit of the Western Carpathians. Younger rocks emerge at some places in the Gaderská valley in so-called tectonic windows.
